Hi Barbara,

Are your swollen ankles not due to fluid retention ? Sounds painful whatever it is, Netrogena Norwegian hand cream is great for split skin and soaks in so well. Hope you get better soon. Lorna x

Hi Barbara

I hope by now that you've seen the doc, and he/she's prescribed some meds to help your poor heels.

With regard to you and others saying you can't get appt to see doc, our sugery offers on-the-day appts, and others for a couple of days later. I thought this was something the government had put in place. When I spoke to GP about my blood pressure, he got me in to see him a couple of days later, but I know if I'd gone through reception I would probably have to have waited a couple of weeks.

Hi Lorna, seen the practice nurse, she said no infection in the split. Keep it covered and use the heel balm when it begins to heal up.

Melly, not sure about fluid retention, just seems to come up when I do lots of walking, hands do the same. Told the rheumy nurse today, and she said its probably due to the walking, and said I need to cut down on working, big surprise!!! Little Sam has his name dow for nursery, but its a new build and still not ready, firs it was end of May then end of June, now not sure!!!

Lyn, thanks, hopefully will start to get better now.

Thanks everyone for all the support and advice, where would I be without all of you!!BigGrin ThumpUp

LOL LOL LOL It used to be holding onto buggies that kept me on my feet!!! Better than any walking frame ... and the contents talk back Tongue

Pleased there's no infection Barbara. Fingers crossed for speedy recovery from sore feet. I get swollen hands and ankles and have to admit it's usually because I've been doing too much or trying to walk too far. No answer except "don't do it"!! RollEyes

I loved holding onto prams too Lyn! It was like a wonderful walking aid! LOLOL

I mourned my pram and now I am hoping and praying I will be able to use one again for YEARS! ha ha

Lyn, yes the buggy does keep me upright!! I must admit I find it easier to get off the bus with the buggy than on my own!! The problem is the pain and swelling at the end of the day!!
Amanda, yes I always loved pushing prams too!! Didnt think I would still be doing it at my age though!! well, apart from grandchildren, which my lot havent presented me with at the moment lol!!!!
